In the Senior Phase, learners advance their English as a First Language skills, focusing on more complex reading, writing, and comprehension tasks. They explore a variety of literary genres, expand their vocabulary, and develop critical thinking skills through analysis of texts, creative writing, and effective communication.

02Mathematics

Mathematics in the Senior Phase builds on foundational concepts and introduces learners to algebra, geometry, data handling, and more complex problem-solving. The subject encourages logical reasoning and critical thinking, laying the groundwork for mathematical understanding in the FET phase.

03Afrikaans First Additional Language

Learners further develop their proficiency in Afrikaans as an Additional Language, focusing on communication, comprehension, grammar, and writing skills. The subject deepens their understanding of the language, preparing them for higher levels of interaction, including reading more complex texts and expressing themselves clearly.

01Natural Sciences (Physical & Life Sciences)

02Social Sciences (History & Geography)

03Economic and Management Sciences (EMS)

EMS introduces learners to the basics of economics, business, and financial literacy. They learn about entrepreneurship, budgeting, financial management, and the role of businesses in society. EMS prepares learners for real-world economic challenges and future studies in business-related fields.

04Technology

Technology equips learners with problem-solving skills through practical tasks, teaching them how to design, make, and evaluate products or solutions. They work on projects that involve construction, systems and control, and processing, developing their ability to think creatively and apply technology to solve problems.

05Life Orientation

Life Orientation focuses on the holistic development of learners, covering personal, social, and environmental health, as well as physical education. It helps learners develop a sense of self-awareness, social responsibility, and effective decision-making skills. Physical fitness and emotional well-being are core components.
